Cub Scout Badges

Cub Scouts work towards a number of badges, during section meetings, camps, special events and there are even a number best suited to doing outside of Cubs, rewarding other hobbies and interests.

The first badge that a Cub Scout earns is the membership badge, showing that they are now a full member of the Cub Pack.  There are also participation awards demonstrating the length of time that the Cub has been in scouting, and these follow on from any attained in the Beaver Scout section.  Finally there is a moving on award, gained as they move up to the Scout section, demonstrating that they were previously a Cub Scout.

Challenge badges form the core of the Cub Scout programme, and include the complete range of activities covered by the section.

The Chief Scout's Silver Award is the highest award for Cub Scouts, and is gained by achieving six of the Challenge Awards.

There are 35 different Activity Badges to earn while a member of the Cub section, covering a wide range of activities suitable for completion both during normal Cub Scout activities and outside of Cub meetings.
