The scout group is a registered charity and as such relies on fundraising to cover many of its costs.
While subscriptions from members cover the running costs of the sections, we need additional income to cover things like the following:
- Maintenance of the scout hut (e.g. replacement of the leaky roof, new flooring and renovations to the stores)
- Running the scout hut (principally utility costs)
- Purchase of new equipment (both new items and replacement of worn out items)
- Activity training for leaders, to provide a greater range of opportunities for the members
- Ensuring larger activities are affordable for all members
